LEGAZPI CITY — Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents in the provinces of Camarines Sur and Masbate on Sunday (Aug. 21) night, police said.

Col. Bernardo Perez, chief of Camarines Sur police, said in a report that while Denifer Alarcon, 36, was on his way home onboard a motorcycle, he was shot by an unidentified suspect at a bridge in Barangay Sta. Rosa in Calabanga town at around 9 p.m.

Alarcon sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body that resulted in his instant death.

Police recovered three spent shells and a misfired piece of suspected shotgun ammunition.

Perez said the investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect who fled after the incident.

In Cataingan town in Masbate, Edwin Marsonia, 52, was also killed in a shooting incident in Barangay Curvada at around 6:15 p.m.

Masbate police said the victim was having a drinking spree at a sari-sari (retail) store when Hermenegildo Tero Jr., 34, suddenly appeared and shot him using a.45-caliber pistol, with no apparent reason.

Marsonia sustained a gunshot wound at the back portion of his neck that caused his instant death.

Police recovered a spent shell from the.45-caliber pistol.

Tero, a casual employee of the local government unit, is still at large. INQ
