Signal No. 2 raised in 4 more areas as ‘Florita’ continues to move west of PH

Four more areas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 on Monday night, as Tropical Storm “Florita” continued to coast the Philippine Sea towards the Luzon land mass, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — Four more areas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 on Monday night, as Tropical Storm “Florita” continued to coast the Philippine Sea towards the Luzon land mass, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

According to Pagasa in its latest tropical cyclone bulletin, Florita was last located 145 kilometers (kms) east of  Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 75 kms per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

Pagasa said Florita was moving westward slowly at 15 kph and is expected to make landfall in the vicinity of east coast Isabela or east coast Cagayan on Tuesday morning, with chances of further intensifying into a severe tropical storm before doing so.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy with at times intense rains will prevail over Aurora, Zambales and Bataan, while light to moderate with heavy rains will be experienced over Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

  • Apayao
  • Abra
  • Kalinga
  • Mountain Province
  • Ifugao
  • Northern portion of Benguet (Bakun, Kibungan, Buguias, Kabayan, Mankayan, Bokod, Atok)
  • Ilocos Norte
  • Ilocos Sur
