PH logs 3,643 new COVID-19 cases; active cases now at 35,271
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded an additional 3,643 new COVID-19 infections that brought the country’s active cases to 35,271.
The new cases also raised the country’s total caseload to 3,855,804 nationwide, with 3,759,176 recoveries and 61,357 deaths, based on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker in its website.
The new COVID-19 cases, meanwhile, are still lower than the average daily cases recorded from August 8 to August 14 at 4,001.
In the latest data from the COVID-19 tracker, Metro Manila still has the highest number of infections per region over the last two weeks with 14,128 cases, followed by Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) at 8,441, and then by Central Luzon at 4,785.
Quezon City is still at the top of the list of areas with the most reported cases in the last two weeks at 3,213, followed by Cavite which recorded 2,870 and Laguna at 2,378.
