She said Police Brigadier General Rudolph Botengan Dimas, Bicol police chief, also ordered the police force to conduct continuous mobile patrolling to increase police visibility that would thwart criminals and other lawless elements.

As of Wednesday, the number of police personnel deployed for the school opening preparation is 1,022. They were deployed to 3,587 private and public schools in the region.

The police also temporarily unarmed themselves to engage in brigada eskwela to help parents, teachers and various educational institutions clear the schools for the upcoming classes.
