77 nabbed in weeklong cop operations in Tarlac
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—The Tarlac police arrested 77 people within a week, as they intensified their drive against crime, including tracking down fugitives.
In a statement on Tuesday, August 9, the Tarlac police said their operations from August 1 to 7 yielded 28 suspects with standing warrants of arrest, 14 drug suspects, 29 for illegal gambling, and nine others facing charges for various offenses.
Three of the 28 persons with arrest warrants were on the provincial police’s list of most wanted persons.
The police also confiscated 29 sachets of “shabu” (crystal meth) from 14 suspected drug peddlers and seized P15,716 bet money in the anti-illegal gambling operations.
Those arrested for illegal gambling include six men in Moncada who allegedly engaged in illegal cockfighting.
