4 alleged drug traffickers yield P1.2M shabu in Calamba City

LUCENA CITY—Four alleged illegal drug traders arrested Monday and Tuesday yielded more than P1,237,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in two separate buy-bust operations in Calamba City in Laguna province.

In an initial report on August 9, the Region 4-A police said Calamba anti-illegal drugs operatives collared at 2:03 a.m. of that day Mirsuari Darang Jr. and Makikarim Sabuyogan, after they allegedly sold P14,000 worth of meth to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Looc.

Seized from the suspects was one plastic sachet of shabu weighing 165 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P1,122,000.

The police also busted around 11:29 p.m. on Monday Carlo Calibod and Bobby Ibañez in Barangay 5.

Authorities found the suspects carrying seven sachets of meth weighing 17 grams with a DDB value of P115,600.

All the suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
