2 former drug convicts busted anew in Laguna
LUCENA CITY – Two former drug convicts were arrested on Saturday (August 6) and yielded P120,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Bay town in Laguna province, a report said Sunday, August 7.
Police Colonel Cecilio Ison Jr., Laguna police chief, reported that members of the local drug enforcement unit arrested Regin Bangay, 37, and his live-in partner, Jacquelyn Tobias, 32, after they allegedly sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Tranca around 9:25 p.m.
The cops seized 13 plastic sachets of meth with a street value of P120,000.
The police said both suspects were previously convicted on drug charges but did not state why and when they were freed.
The suspects are now back in jail and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
