Palace says Aug. 9 is not a special non-working holiday
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday dubbed as “false” social media posts saying August 9 was declared a special non-working holiday in honor of former president Fidel V. Ramos.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles cautioned the public not to believe social media posts claiming that August 9 has been declared as a holiday.
“There’s no announcement or proclamation released by the Office of the President and Executive Secretary declaring August 9, 2022, as a special non-working holiday nationwide in honor of former President Fidel V. Ramos,” she said in a Facebook post.
She called on the public to be vigilant on social media.
“Maging mapanuri tayo sa mga nababasa at nakikita na social media,” the Palace official said.
