LPA off northern Luzon develops into Tropical Depression Ester
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area off extreme northern Luzon has developed into Tropical Depression Ester, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.
In an advisory, Pagasa said the LPA inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) developed into the fifth typhoon to enter the PAR at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
Tropical Depression Ester is expected to bring scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rain and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) the Bicol Region, Samar, Zambales, Bataan, Aklan, and Antique.
Pagasa said tropical cyclone bulletins for Tropical Depression Ester would be issued starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
