MANILA, Philippines — A total of 73,909 cases of dengue have been reported as of July 11, the Department of Health (DOH) said Thursday.
According to DOH assistant spokesperson Usec. Beverly Ho, this is cumulatively 96 percent higher than the reported cases during the same period in 2021, which was at 37,000 cases.
“Most of these cases were reported from Region 3 (Central Luzon), Region 7 (Central Visayas), and NCR (National Capital Region),” she said.
Ho also said that 18,000 of the 73,909 cases were recorded from June 12 to July 9, with 11 regions exceeding the epidemic threshold. But she did not identify these regions.
A total of 299 patients have also died due to dengue as of July 11, according to Ho.
