MANILA, Philippines — Customs and drug enforcement agents intercepted kush and liquid marijuana worth almost P1.3 million at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday, the Bureau of Customs said in a statement.
The consignee, identified as a certain Jude Paolo Javier, was arrested in Kidapawan City in Cotabato in a controlled delivery operation, which was conducted by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Interagency Drug Interdiction Task Group.
The shipment, which was declared as a cooking set, was shipped from Folsom, California, in the United States by a certain Janice Nguyen.
The package contained 927 grams of kush, which is high-grade marijuana, and 22 pieces of vape cartridge containing liquid marijuana with an estimated market value of P1,297,800.
The consignee may be charged with violating the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
