NTC orders telcos: Provide free calls, charging stations in quake-hit areas
MANILA, Philippines — The National Telecommunications Commission on Wednesday ordered all public telcos to provide free call and charging stations in areas affected by the 7.0 earthquake in Abra.

“As earlier discussed, you are hereby directed to deploy Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging Stations in strategic areas affected by the earthquake in Abra this morning,” the memo read.
The said stations should observe strict health protocols to prevent the spread of new coronavirus.
The memorandum is effective immediately and is valid until August 5.
Five people have died after the tremor hit northeast of Langilang, Abra, at 8:43 a.m, according to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
