Salceda’s adopted son is new Albay councilors league president

LIGAO CITY—Juan Miguel “Congcong” Salceda, councilor of Polangui town and adopted son of Albay 2nd district Representative Joey Salceda, was elected on Monday, July 26, president of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) in Albay province.

Salceda, 21, a newbie in politics, is a 5th year student of Electronics Communication Engineering at Bicol University Polangui Campus.

The younger Salceda was nominated and elected without opposition. Some 186 councilors participated in the elections Monday afternoon at Marison hotel.

Councilor Law Beltran of Legazpi City was elected PCL Vice President when he defeated Councilor John Gio Bongao of Tabaco City.

The rest of the officials, from the secretary up to the public relations officer and board of directors, were elected unopposed.
