Only 51.05% of eligible population in BARMM vaccinated vs COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday said that only 51.05 percent of the eligible population in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
This was based on data from the National Vaccination Operations Center (NCOV), which showed that the total number of vaccinated individuals in BARMM was only at 1,584,124, as of July 21.
Meanwhile, in terms of booster coverage, only 5.26 percent or 163,308 have received their additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In terms of national vaccine coverage, DOH said a total of 71,439,759 individuals or 91.47 percent of the eligible population have availed the first series (the first two doses) of COVID-19 vaccine.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, 15,797,385 or 20.23 percent of the target population have received their first booster dose; 1,146,735 or 1.47 percent of the target, on the other hand, have received their second dose.
Article continues after this advertisementThe DOH earlier announced that it was planning to hasten the administration of booster shots, targeting to inoculate 23 million or 50 percent of the target population within the first 100 days of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.
