MANILA, Philippines — Eight individuals tagged as “most wanted” were arrested in a series of police operations, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported Thursday.
In a statement, QCPD Director Remus Medina said that the following most wanted suspects, including the police district’s Top 5, were arrested on July 20.
The suspects were identified as Louie Masangcay, 38, top 5 most wanted person of QCPD, who is facing cases for murder and frustrated murder; and Aradin Bastatas, 25, top 4 most wanted person of Batasan Police Station 6, who is facing violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Aside from the two suspects, QCPD said in a separate statement that another six most wanted persons, including a former police officer, were also arrested on July 19:
- Former police officer Michael Yap, 39, top 3 most wanted person of Pasong Putik Police Station 16, who is facing a syndicated estafa case;
- Ronald Sindo, 45, top 4 most wanted person of Pasong Putik Police Station 16, who is facing violation of Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines;
- Gondelino Resma Jr., 29, top 1 most wanted person of Project 4 Police Station 8, who is facing a statutory rape case;
- Marlon Dela Cruz, 37, top 6 most wanted person of Novaliches Police Station 4, who is facing violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act;
- Soliman Villamin Jr., 42, top 7 most wanted person of Masambong Police Station 2, who is facing a syndicated estafa case;
- Fernando Homo, 61, top 9 most wanted person of Holy Spirit Police Station 14, who is facing cases for attempted murder.
“Magpapatuloy ang aming kampanya laban sa Wanted Persons at iba pang anti-criminality operations upang masiguro ang kapayapaan at kaligtasan ng ating mamamayan dito sa Quezon City,” Medina said.

“Patuloy tayong magsasagawa ng mga operasyon laban sa mga Wanted Persons at mga kriminal sa Kamaynilaan upang sila ay mapanagot sa batas,” he added.
(We will continuously conduct operations against the wanted persons and criminals in Metro Manila for them to be held accountable by the law.)
The QCPD said that the respective courts that issued the arrest warrants would be notified of the arrest of the suspects.
“Ang pagkakadakip ng mga akusado ay tanda na ang inyong kapulisan ay nagtatrabaho ng buong katapatan at lubos na pinapahalagahan ang seguridad at hustisya para sa lahat ng biktima,” Regional Director of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Felipe Natividad said.
(The arrest of the suspects is a testament that the police force works in good faith and values the security and justice for all the victims.)
“Ang buong NCRPO ay hindi titigil sa pagsasagawa ng operasyon upang mapanatili ang kaayusan at kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan,” he added.
