Over P180K shabu seized, 3 drug suspects nabbed in Quezon busts

3 arrested, P100,000 'shabu' seized in Occidental Mindoro buy-bust

LUCENA CITY — More than P180,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) was seized from three drug suspects who were arrested in separate buy-bust operations on July 15 and 16 in this city and Tiaong town in Quezon province, police reports said Saturday.

In Tiaong, police busted Rexon Mendoza, 37, in Barangay (village) Lusacan around 10:05 p.m. on Friday.

Mendoza yielded four plastic sachets of meth weighing 5.44 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P36,992 and worth P132,736 in the street market.

In Lucena City, Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, reported that anti-illegal drug operatives nabbed Francisco De Leon, 53, in another sting operation in Barangay Talao-Talao around 8:26 a.m. Authorities seized five sachets of shabu worth P30,600 from the suspect.

Lucena cops also collared Yzrael Valencia after they found him carrying four sachets of meth with a street value of P26,316 in Barangay Ibabang Dupay around 2:09 a.m. Saturday.

Reports tagged the three suspects as SLI (street-level individuals) on the drug watchlist.

The suspects are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
