Weekend repairs on parts of Edsa, C-5, QC roads — DPWH

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists are advised to take alternate routes as some roads in Metro Manila will be repaired over the weekend, the  Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Friday.

In an advisory, the DPWH said the weekend road repairs would cover parts of Edsa, the C-5 Road, and some roads in Quezon City. The repairs will start at 11 p.m. on Friday, July 15. The affected road sections will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. on July 18.

DPWH National Capital Region Director Nomer Canlas said the repairs would cover the following road segments of Edsa’s northbound lane:

  • Along Santolan MRT Station, bus lane
  • After P. Tuazon flyover to Aurora Tunnel, 3rd lane from the center island (fast lane)
  • After Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, 3rd lane from the center island (intermittent section)
  • After Kamuning Road and Kamias Road to JAC Liner Bus Station, beside the center island in Quezon City

DPWH said Edsa’s southbound lane, from the Balingasa Creek to the Oliveros Footbridge in Quezon City, will also be repaired.

Meanwhile, the second lane of C-5 southbound in Makati City will also be closed for repair, the DPWH said.

Other repair works in Quezon City include:

  • Quirino Highway, before Manila North Diversion Road Flyover, 2nd inner lane
  • Cloverleaf going to NLEX northbound; and Cloverleaf going to NLEX southbound

“DPWH advised motorists to take possible alternative routes due to anticipated traffic slowdowns near the construction areas, until the affected road sections are reopened to traffic at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 18,” the DPWH said. – Christine Annie Asistio, INQUIRER.net intern
