Ex-LRTA administrator Mel Robles nominated as PCSO general manager

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has nominated former Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) administrator Melquiades “Mel” Robles as general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles made the announcement Thursday.

“Bilang general manager ng PCSO, ni-nominate si Mr. Mel Robles na siyang dating LRT administrator. He’s credited with having been the only administrator to have made that agency profitable,” Cruz-Angeles said.

Cruz-Angeles said that prior to his stint in the LRTA, Robles was a board member of the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation.

Robles is currently a businessman engaged in the real estate sector, said Cruz-Angeles.
