MANILA, Philippines — The Edsa Timog Flyover-Southbound is set to open on July 23, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Wednesday.

DPWH District Engineer Edward Santos said after a press briefing with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) that the flyover will be open to motorists at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.

He said almost all of the work on the flyover has been completed, and they are ahead of schedule.

The bridge was fully closed on June 25 and around 140,000 vehicles passing through the flyover daily were affected by the closure.

It was closed for immediate repairs after cracks were seen within the bridge.
