3 suspects yield P295K meth in Rizal, Quezon busts

3 suspects yield P295K meth in Rizal, Quezon busts

LUCENA CITY—Police arrested three drug suspects and seized more than P295,000 worth of shabu “crystal meth” in buy-bust operations on Sunday, July 3, in Rizal and Quezon provinces.

In a report Monday, the Police Regional Police 4A said anti-narcotic agents busted Jennifer Shanin around 10:15 p.m. at Barangay San Jose in Rodriguez, Rizal.

Authorities found in her possession a digital weighing scale, 12 plastic sachets of meth weighing 40 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P272,000.

The police were investigating the suspect’s source of the illegal drugs.

In Lucena City, Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, said operatives from the drug enforcement unit collared Antonio Ferrer, 48, and his younger brother Bryan, 38, in a drug sting at 9:57 p.m. in Barangay Ilayang Iyam.

The siblings, on the police’s list of drug pushers in the city, yielded five sachets of shabu worth P23,664 in the street market.

The suspects were detained and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
