Slaughterhouse worker shot dead in Tuguegarao

TUGUEGARAO CITY—A 57-year-old city government worker assigned to the slaughterhouse was killed on Tuesday (June 28) evening by a gunman in Barangay Ugac Norte in this city, police said.
Captain Isabelita Gano, Cagayan police spokesperson, identified the victim as Genaro Matammu.

Gano said the victim was talking with his cousin when the motorcycle gunman arrived and shot him in his head multiple times.

Matammu died on the spot, while the assailant fled immediately and is now being tracked down by the authorities.
Lieutenant Colonel Edith Narag, Tuguegarao City police chief, said they would get security camera footage in the area to help solve the case.
