MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) began conducting maritime patrol operations in Manila Bay on Monday to create a more secure environment ahead of the inauguration of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
PCG earlier committed to deploying some of its vessels and personnel for the event, including rigid hull inflatable boats, aluminum boats, and personal watercraft for the occasion.

“Kasabay ng mahigpit na paghahanda sa paligid ng National Museum, nagsagawa rin ng maritime patrol operations ang PCG sa katubigan ng Manila Bay ngayong araw,” PCG said in a Facebook post Monday.
(Along with the heightened security preparations around the National Museum, the PCG also conducted maritime patrol operations in Manila Bay today – June 27, 2022.)
The Coast Guard also reiterated its objective to uphold peace and security during Marcos Jr.’s oath-taking ceremony.

The Philippine National Police has also issued a public advisory prohibiting vehicles from sailing within three nautical miles of Manila Bay and Pasig River on Thursday.
