MMDA deploys 2,000 personnel for Bongbong Marcos’ inauguration

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will assign some 2,000 personnel for the inauguration of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to be held at the National Museum grounds on June 30, its chairman Romando Artes said on Saturday.

In a statement, Artes said the 2,000 personnel will come from MMDA’s Traffic Discipline Office, the Metro Public Safety Office, and the Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group for traffic management, clearing operations, and emergency response.

The said 2,000 MMDA personnel are included in the over 15,000 personnel who will be assigned in the event announced by the National Capital Region Police Office.

Incoming Cabinet members, diplomats, lawmakers, members of the Judiciary, international and local media, and other guests are expected to attend the inauguration.

Meanwhile, the MMDA shall also implement road closures and traffic rerouting plans around the National Museum, Manila City, and other areas where events will be held in connection with Marcos’ oath-taking as the 17th President of the Philippines.

The schedule of road closures and alternative routes has been announced on MMDA’s Facebook page.
