Driver in hit-and-run incident responds to charges
The SUV driver in the viral hit-and-run incident in Mandaluyong City has filed a counteraffidavit during the second preliminary hearing of the frustrated murder and abandonment of one’s own victim complaint against him on Thursday.
Jose Antonio Sanvicente, 34, showed up at the preliminary investigation at the Mandaluyong Prosecutor’s Office for the first time but left after around 30 minutes with his lawyer Danilo Macalino.
The victim, mall security guard Christian Joseph Floralde, could not attend the hearing and was represented by his lawyer Federico Biolena.
The owner of the dashcam video that showed Sanvicente ramming Floralde on June 5 also appeared before the prosecution panel to submit a copy of the viral video and affirm its veracity. —JANE BAUTISTA
