MANILA, Philippines — A security guard who allegedly stabbed a pawnshop manager to death in Aklan was arrested by police authorities on Thursday afternoon.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has confirmed that 31-year-old Mark Archie Torrefiel was nabbed after police intelligence found him hiding in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
He is currently facing charges of robbery with homicide after reportedly killing 23-year-old Bonna Ambay inside RD Pawnshop in Barangay Poblacion, Kalibo, Aklan on Sunday evening.
Since his arrest, Torrefiel has been transferred back to Aklan and is now under the temporary custody of the Kalibo municipal police station.

Regional police earlier launched a manhunt operation to find Torrefiel after he and his live-in partner fled from their residence not long after the crime was committed.
Kalibo mayor-elect Juris Sucro had also offered a reward of P30,000 for anyone who can lead to the capture and arrest of the suspect.
