Alleged ISIS spokesperson killed in Maguindanao ops — military
MANILA, Philippines — An alleged spokesperson of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-East Asia (ISIS-EA) was killed in an operation in Maguindanao on Monday afternoon, the military reported on Tuesday.
The joint military operatives conducted a special operation on Monday at Datu Saudi Ampatuan town in Maguindanao, leading to the death of Abdulfatah Omar Alimuden, a.k.a. Abu Huzaifah, according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom).
“The Western Mindanao Command’s Joint Task Force Central successfully neutralized the spokesperson of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-East Asia (ISIS-EA) in a joint operation in Maguindanao on Monday afternoon, June 6, 2022,” the Wesmincom said in a statement.
Aside from being the spokesperson of ISIS-EA, Abu Huzaifah was also alleged to be in charge of the financial transactions of the Daulah Islamiyah-Philippines to the ISIS Central, the Wesmincom also said.
