Suspected crime gang member arrested in Taguig
MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested on Thursday a suspected member of a criminal gang in Barangay Central Bicutan, Taguig City, the Souther Police District (SPD) said on Friday.
SPD Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said that the arrested suspect, Giovanni Perillo, is believed to be a member of the Utto Criminal Gang whose members were arrested the previous week.
The SPD said that the Utto Criminal Gang is responsible for several robbery-hold up incidents in Taguig, along with the proliferation of illegal drugs.
Perillo was arrested along A. Bonifacio Street in Central Bicutan on Thursday.
The Taguig City Police Station barangay – based informants spotted the suspect in the area where he was eventually arrested.
Several firearms and ammunition were seized from the suspect.
