MANILA, Philippines — Cavite 7th District Rep. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla on Tuesday said he would “tone down a little bit” and be “more reserved” while still being “outspoken” once he becomes the next secretary of justice.

“On radio, I had no filter,” Remulla said over CNN Philippines, referring to his pronouncements during a radio interview in March when he alleged that some of the youth who attended Vice President Leni Robredo’s campaign rally in Cavite were activists trained by the National Democratic Front which has been tagged as a “terrorist group” by the government’s anti-terrorism council.

“But maybe we will have to tone down a little bit of that, and just convert it to action na lang, hindi na ako magsasalita (I will not speak of it anymore),” he added.

When asked if he would be careful now that he accepted the offer of the incoming Marcos administration to take the helm of the Department of Justice, Remulla said: “Of course, I would have to be more reserved about many of these things, but I’ve always been outspoken.”

“It would be a hard habit to break,” he added.
