Cop falls prey to 'basag kotse' gang in Batangas

LUCENA CITY––A policewoman lost on Sunday, May 22, her service firearm, cash, and other personal belongings from a “basag kotse” (car break-in) in San Pascual town in Batangas province.

The Calabarzon police said Monday that Corporal Risciliza De la Cruz parked her car unattended around 6 p.m. in front of a massage and therapy clinic in Barangay Poblacion.

When she returned after more than four hours, she found the left front passenger window glass shattered.

She reported to the police that she had lost her 9mm-caliber service firearm with 15 bullets, a black bag that contained P100,000 in cash, and five credit cards.

The report did not mention if there were security cameras in the area. An investigation was underway.
