SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Three fishermen from Subic town were rescued on Sunday, May 22, after being stranded in the waters off Barangay San Miguel in this town.

The Public Information Office of San Antonio said fellow fisherfolk spotted the distressed fishers some 30 miles from the coast of San Miguel between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Initial reports said Pelepin Baldia, 61; Diosdado Masuanggat, 53; and Regino Llema, 56, had drifted at sea for two days after their boat capsized due to strong waves.

Ruben Ramelo, 52, of San Miguel, rescued the three.

Barangay Calapacuan sent a mobile rescue to bring the fishers to safety.
