MANILA, Philippines — The prevailing southwesterly surface wind flow will still bring rain over Metro Manila, as well as several areas in the western section of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina, scattered rain showers and overcast skies could be expected over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Calabarzon in the next 24 hours.

“Sa mga lugar na binanggit ay laging magdala ng pananggalang sa ulan dahil inaasahan natin ang mga pagulan bukas sa araw ng Huwebes,” Badrina said in a weather report on Wednesday afternoon.

(In the areas mentioned, always bring protection against rain as we expect rain showers tomorrow, Thursday.)

The rest of Luzon, on the other hand, would have relatively fairer weather but the occurrence of rain remain possible by Thursday afternoon and evening.

The same goes for Visayas and Mindanao, Pagasa said, but Visayas could experience rain in the afternoon and evening while localized thunderstorms would prevail over Mindanao in the afternoon until evening.

Badrina also said they are not seeing any low-pressure area or storm entering the Philippine area of responsibility for the rest of the week.

Pagasa then released the following temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Thursday:

  • Metro Manila: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Baguio City: 17 to 24 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City:  25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tuguegarao: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay: 21 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Cebu: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius

Moreover, Badrina said that despite the presence of the southwesterly surface wind flow, Pagasa did not raise any gale warning although moderate to rough seas may be expected over the seaboards of extreme Northern Luzon.
