Bohol Rep. Besas-Tutor gets fresh term in Congress

TAGBILARAN CITY—Rep. Kristine Alexie Besas-Tutor got another fresh term as the congresswoman of Bohol’s third district.
On Wednesday, she thanked her supporters who stayed behind her during the campaign and the elections.
“Thank you third district! We have shown around the world that our district is principled, looks at the actions and deeds of its leaders, and has the love and conscience to vote for a good leader,” Tutor said.
“Thank you for being with me. You also supported most of the candidates we pushed. You didn’t leave me in my advocacy. As you join in action and prayer, we enjoy victory like no other. You fought against all the black propaganda and maintained your trust, support and love.”
Tutor received 167,359 votes while her opponent, Valencia Mayor Maria Katrina Lim, got 88,686.
The third district of Bohol has 436 barangays, the biggest in Bohol.
Tutor said she would continue her personal advocacies like her ongoing housing program and patient transport vehicle in her district while strengthening agriculture, tourism, healthcare, and infrastructure like multi-purpose buildings and road concreting.
