MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate and current frontrunner Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s  spokesperson on Tuesday lauded Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso’s concession speech.

This came after Moreno conceded to the leading presidential candidate in the 2022 presidential elections.

“Moreno’s call for respect of the election results, appeal for people not to join any disturbance, unity and support for those chosen by the electorate is highly commendable and shows his quality statesmanship and genuine patriotism,” said Marcos’ spokesperson Victor Rodriguez.

“Indeed, the mode to drive forward without any delay right after the conclusion of this political exercise should be the case. As we all agree and recognize that the will of the people is law, we also recognize that we are facing inevitable challenges ahead as a nation,” he added.

Marcos is currently leading the 2022 presidential race by a large margin with 30.9 million votes counted, so far, based on the electronically transmitted results in the unofficial, partial election count of the Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

Moreno, on the other hand, sat in fourth place with 1.8 million votes after Sen. Manny Pacquiao who had so far garnered 3.6 million votes, and Vice President Leni Robredo with 14.7 million votes.
