La Union 3 teens drown

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union  – The Ortega clan retained its political influence in La Union with Raphaela Veronica Ortega-David winning the gubernatorial race based on nearly complete but unofficial tallies.

His uncle, Mario Eduardo ran unopposed for vice-governor.

Ortega-David’s father, Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega, however, is losing by a thin margin of around 1,000 votes to reelectionist San Fernando City Mayor Herminigildo “Dong” Gualberto with 94.35 percent of votes already counted.

In this capital city, Alfred “Alf” Ortega is leading the race for vice mayor. Alf is the younger brother of Mario Eduardo.

Ramon “Monetski” Ortega ranked second on the list of winning city councilors, while his brother, Francisco “Kit” Ortega ranked 13th.

Pacoy’s younger brother Victor Manuel “Mannix” is winning as re-electionist vice mayor of San Juan, where Mariquita Ortega (wife of Congressman Pablo Ortega) is taking the number one seat as councilor of the surfing town.

Pablo’s son Paolo, an incumbent board member, also won in the first district congressional race.

Luzan, the daughter of Pablo and Mariquita, ranked third on the town’s list of winning councilors.
