MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) authorized stay-in privileges for families of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) this celebration season.
It said regular visits are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., while stay-in privileges are from 8 a.m. on December 24 to 7 a.m. on December 25 and from 8 a.m. on December 25 until 7 a.m. on December 26; and from 8 a.m. on December 31, 2024, to 7 a.m. on January 1, 2025, and from 8 a.m. on January 1 to 7 a.m. on January 2.
BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. outlined how the stay-in privileges will be implemented in two batches for each holiday period.

“This structured approach ensures that more families can benefit from these privileges while maintaining order within the facilities,” the BuCor said in a statement.
“This initiative reflects a broader understanding of the importance of family ties in the rehabilitation process of PDLs, underscoring that even those within correctional facilities deserve the opportunity to connect meaningfully with their loved ones,” it added.
