Sara Duterte thanks supporters as she casts vote in Davao City
DAVAO CITY, Philippines –As she cast her vote at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School here, Mayor Sara Duterte thanked her supporters and the public for the peaceful conduct of the campaign in the last 90 days and the orderly conduct of the elections on Monday.
“I hope that everyone will go out and vote today and we pray for an honest, orderly and peaceful election,” she said as she emerged from her precinct at 9:21 a.m. here.
She said that whether they would win or not, they had already prepared a thanksgiving for those who supported them during the 90-day campaign.
“Manalo man kami or matalo, we already prepared an online thanksgiving para po sa lahat ng mga tumulong at sa lahat na gustong magpasalamat sa safe conduct of the campaign in the last 90 days,” she said.
She added that the thanksgiving would start tomorrow, May 10, when she would be flying to Manila to thank supporters at the Lakas-CMD headquarters.

Article continues after this advertisementShe told reporters here that if ever she would win as vice president, she would work to fulfill her campaign promise to serve the country. She also said she would remain a supportive and loyal vice president to Ferdinand Marcos Jr., if he would win as President; but if not, she said she was already prepared to work for peace building and child protection if the sitting president would not give her a Cabinet post.
“Of course, I will be supportive and loyal vice president to Apo BBM in the event that he wins,” she said. “Kung hindi naman natin kasama or kaalyado ang maging presidente, I will still continue to work for our country. Kung di tayo mabigyan ng cabinet position, we have already prepared peace building activities and activities for child protection, particularly sa mga eskwelahan at mga kabataan,” she said.
But when asked what Cabinet post would she prefer to have, she said she was not yet thinking about that as she was still trying to ensure that all votes would be counted. Germelina Lacorte, Inquirer Mindanao
