Full circle for Pacquiao
GENERAL SANTOS CITY, South Cotabato, Philippines — Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s presidential campaign has gone full circle.
Pacquiao flew home to his hometown to hold his second and last miting de avance on Saturday night in a final bid to convince Filipinos to choose him on May 9.
Just like how he launched his campaign here with his wife Jinkee and mother Dionisia, the retired boxing champ was also accompanied by his wife, mother, and brothers as he capped his 90-day campaign.
The Oval Plaza became a sea of blue shirts and blue balloons as his province mates braved the long wait to express their support for the city’s homegrown hero and favorite son, who put the Philippines on the world map with his unprecedented boxing record.
As of posting time, Pacquiao has yet to arrive at his own party.
