MANILA, Philippines — Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday arrested three “high-value targets” (HVT) for illegal drugs in Angono, Rizal, and confiscated P27 million worth of crystal methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu.”
A report from the PNP identified the suspects as Aries “Axel” Apelena, Dennis Delos Santos, and Mariz “Zyra” Sedaya. All three were included in the police force’s HVT list.
The PNP said the three suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mahabang Parang, Angono in Rizal province at 3:20 a.m. on May 5.
Police officers confiscated 12 transparent plastic sachets containing four kilos and 5 grams of suspected shabu. Authorities said the value of the haul was approximately P27,234,000.
All three suspects will face separate criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” according to PNP.
“I would like to commend our local police authorities for helping the PNP leadership implement strongly our Enhanced Managing Police Operations programs against criminality and our PNP Campaign Plan Double-Barrel Finale Version 2022 also known as Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation through Reinforcement & Education (ADORE),” said PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos.
“Let us always stand in solidarity as we assure the Filipino people that through our genuine services we will live up to the promise of making them feel safer and secure,” he added.
