Pagasa: LPA-induced rain to persist over Caraga, Davao Region, Soccsksargen
MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies, and rain were forecast to continue over Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen on Wednesday amid the prevailing weather system of a low pressure area (LPA) within the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) near Mindanao.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last located 245 kilometers east-southeast of General Santos City. But weather specialist Obet Badrina assured the LPA was still less likely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
“Inaasahan pa rin natin na malaki pa rin ang tiyansa ng pagulan sa may bahagi ng Caraga, Davao Region at Soccsksargen dulot ng LPA,” said Badrina in a weather report late Tuesday afternoon.
(We still expect a high chance of rain in parts of Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen due to the LPA.)
