MANILA, Philippines — A national network of youth leaders from different camps expressed its support for former Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercto’s return to the Senate.
In a statement, the Ako Youth of the Nation (Ako YON) lauded Ejercito for being a “friend” of the youth sector throughout his life in public service.
“Ang Ako YON! Youth of the Nation, kasama ng aming daan-daang miyembro sa buong bansa, ano man ang antas ng buhay; rosas, pula o ano man ang kulay, ay nagpapahayag ng aming malalim at buong-loob na suporta para sa the GOOD ONE, Senator JV Ejercito, na naging tunay na kaibigan ng kabataan mula noong siya ay maging lingkod-bayan sa lungsod ng San Juan, hanggang sa maging magaling na Senador ng Republika,” read the statement.
The youth group said Ejercito’s clean track record and credentials as a public servant justify his tagline as “The Good One.”
Moreover, the group commended Ejercito for his “sincerity” in working towards “genuine unity” among different political camps.
The former Senator thanked the organization for its endorsement and vowed to continue supporting the youth should he be elected for a second time to the Senate.
Ejercito previously said he fulfilled his promises to the youth during his first term in the Senate, when he helped secure the passage of the Free Education Act and Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law.
