MANILA, Philippines — Katrina Ponce-Enrile, daughter of former Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, has expressed her gratitude for the support she is getting from Cagayanos in her campaign to represent the first district of Cagayan province in Congress.
She took time to visit different sitios and barangays across District 1 during her campaign.
The visits served as an immersion as she listened to different stories of people from Brgy. Baraccaoit, Brgy. Dugo, Brgy. Dodan, Brgy. Minanga Este, Brgy. Baybayog, Brgy. Dalaoig, and more.
Enrile said she plans to push her platform of solving water and electricity shortage across District 1.
As a successful entrepreneur, she also said she values the insights of small business vendors.
Enrile went for a palengke (market) tour across District 1 and reached out to vendors, who told stories of their everyday struggles in the wet market.
Enrile said that if she wins she will provide a policy to protect fishermen, farmers, and vendors to ensure their goods are always sold at a fair price.
Despite this election being her first time, Enrile is already known to Cagayanos through her donation projects.
Enrile also said Cagayanos can expect more from her through numerous platforms as she aimed at providing more scholarships, job opportunities, and infrastructures to improve the quality of life in District 1.
