LPA near Zamboanga City to bring rain in Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, Palawan
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) spotted near Mindanao and within the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies and rain in the entire Visayas and Mindanao, as well as Bicol Region and Palawan on Thursday, said the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa).
According to Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren, the LPA was spotted 180 kilometers south southeast of Zamboanga City.
“Hindi po natin inaasahan maging bagyo at makakaapekto lamang ito kasama ang ITCZ sa bahagi ng Mindanao, pati na rin sa Bicol Region Romblon at sa Palawan,” said Clauren.
(We do not expect it to be a typhoon and it will only affect, together with the ITCZ, parts of Mindanao, as well as Bicol Region Romblon and Palawan.)
Due to this, scattered rain, lightning and thunder should be expected in the entire Visayas and Mindanao, as well as the areas of Bicol Region and Palawan in Luzon.
