MANILA, Philippines — The Makabayan coalition endorsed Tuesday 10 more senatorial candidates for the 2022 national elections.

Aside from the coalition’s candidates Neri Colmenares and Elmer Labog, the Makabayan is also endorsing the following senatorial bets:

Among groups within the coalition are Bayan Muna, Gabriela Women’s Party, ACT Teachers Partylist, and Kabataan Partylist.

“Inihahayag namin ang suporta sa kanila dahil sa track record nila ng pakikipagtulungan sa Makabayan sa mga piling mahahalagang isyu at laban ng mamamayan,” the coalition said in a statement.

(We are expressing our support towards them due to their track record of working with Makabayan on certain important issues and fighting for our countrymen.)

“Magiging kaalyado sila ng mga kandidatong senador ng Makabayan, sina Neri Colmenares at Elmer Labog, at mga progresibong party list sa pakikipaglaban para sa karapatan at kabuhayan ng mamamayan at para sa demokrasya at kasarinlan,” it added.

(They will be allied with our senatorial candidates Neri Colmenares and Elmer Nabog and other progressive partylist groups in fighting for the right of the people and for democracy and freedom.)

Among the issues cited by the Makabayan coalition are the Anti-Terror Law, peace talks, and red-tagging.
