Magnitude 6.1 quake jolts Davao Oriental
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocked parts of Davao Oriental on Thursday morning, the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its updated bulletin, Phivolcs said the earthquake was struck at 5:57 a.m. northeast of Manay, Davao Oriental.
It had a depth of 21 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
Article continues after this advertisementIt was measured at Intensity IV in Manay and Intensity II in General Santos City and Tampakan, South Cotabato, Phivolcs said.

Phivolcs said aftershocks are possible, but no significant damage is expected.
