MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has recorded over 14,000 passengers in seaports nationwide from 12 midnight to 6 a.m. on Black Saturday.

According to PCG, 8,706 passengers were travelling outbound and 6,127 were inbound.

Over 2,300 deployed frontline personnel in 15 PCG districts have inspected 127 vessels and 130 motorized bancas.

The PCG has placed its districts, stations, and sub-stations on heightened alert to manage the influx of passengers during the Lenten season from April 8 to 18.
