Beachgoer drowns in Oriental Mindoro

Man drowns while swimming in Oriental Mindoro town

CITY OF CALAPAN – A man drowned on Good Friday in Roxas,  Oriental Mindoro, according to a report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) on Saturday.

Hilario Gabayno, municipal DRR officer, said that Ronald Fajarito, 46, of Barangay Odiong, Roxas, went to the beach with his family.

A beach visitor later shouted for help after spotting a drowning man, which turned out to be Fajarito, who reportedly  had an epileptic episode.

Residents and barangay officials of San Isidro responded to calls for help but Fajarito expired on the way to Oriental Mindoro Southern District Hospital in Roxas.
