Cebu City fire destroys P59.5M worth of properties

CEBU CITY––A fire on Friday destroyed at least P59.5 million worth of properties, including two old commercial buildings, at Legaspi Street in downtown Cebu City.
The Cebu City Fire Office report said the fire affected 25 establishments occupying the two buildings owned by Steven Jo.

No one was hurt in the fire that started around 8 a.m. and took firefighters about two hours to extinguish.

SFO2 Wendel Villanueva, Cebu City Fire Office spokesperson, said they received the fire alarm at 8:40 a.m.
The blaze was under control at 10:59 a.m.
Investigators have yet to identify the cause of the fire.
