MANILA, Philippines — Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have confiscated more than P1.7 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” in three anti-drug operations in Metro Manila.

Two separate drug stings were conducted Monday, April 5, which led to the arrest of four suspects.

The buy-bust operation in Sampaloc, Manila, where Jefferson Austria, 18; John Ashley Diaz, 20; and Ruel Salalac, 23 were collared, seized P856,800 worth of shabu.

Early Wednesday, the PNP said, operatives nabbed six drug suspects identified as Nazarene Mortega, Rhodora Cruz, Pinky Larubis, Andrea Bautista, Joshua Maraquel, and Marlon Magtibay in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City, and confiscated P521,560 worth of shabu.

Police said all 10 suspects will be facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

“We have a working police organization determined to suppress the proliferation of illegal drugs. I congratulate our operatives for the successful operations,” PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos said.
