‘Shabu’ worth more than P1.7 million seized in 3 NCR anti-drug operations
MANILA, Philippines — Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have confiscated more than P1.7 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” in three anti-drug operations in Metro Manila.
Two separate drug stings were conducted Monday, April 5, which led to the arrest of four suspects.
The first operation in Barangay Valenzuela, Makati City yielded around P340,000 worth of shabu and caused the arrest of Vernie Antonio, the PNP said.
The buy-bust operation in Sampaloc, Manila, where Jefferson Austria, 18; John Ashley Diaz, 20; and Ruel Salalac, 23 were collared, seized P856,800 worth of shabu.
Early Wednesday, the PNP said, operatives nabbed six drug suspects identified as Nazarene Mortega, Rhodora Cruz, Pinky Larubis, Andrea Bautista, Joshua Maraquel, and Marlon Magtibay in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City, and confiscated P521,560 worth of shabu.
