Police seize P3.4M shabu in Malate buy-bust op
MANILA, Philippines – Anti-narcotics operatives seized over P3.4 million worth of crystal meth or “shabu” from a drug suspect in Malate, Manila, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Tuesday.
The suspect was identified as Tato Sali, also known as Tonanmi.
NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad, in a statement, said that authorities of Malate Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the buy-bust operation at about 1:20 p.m on Sunday in a Malate condominium which led to the arrest of the suspect.
Operatives recovered about 500 grams of illegal drugs with an estimated value of P3,450,000, the NCRPO said.
The suspect as well as the pieces of evidence were turned over to PDEA Regional Office IV-A for proper documentation and filing of appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to NCRPO.
