P20-M shabu seized from 2 Chinese high-value targets in QC bust — PDEA
MANILA, Philippines — At least 3 kilograms of suspected crystal meth or shabu were seized from two Chinese nationals during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City’s Barangay E. Rodriguez, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday.
In a report from PDEA, the agency said that the two Chinese nationals, considered as high-value targets, were arrested Wednesday in a hotel along St. Mary Street by a team composed of PDEA’s Intelligence Service, National Capital Regional Office, Quezon City Office, the local police’s anti-drug unit, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.
The suspected shabu seized from the suspects identified as Shiljang Zeng and Jack Lee was said to have a street value of P20.40 million.
Aside from the illegal drugs, the PDEA said agents also recovered the marked money used in the bust, along with two smartphones, different identification cards, and other documents.
The PDEA said the two arrested suspects will be facing charges for violating Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
